EUN to launch new European Learning Resource Exchange
Later in 2008, the EUN will launch a new European Learning Resource Exchange (LRE) for Schools, a place on the web where teachers and learners can easily access digital learning content contained in a federation of linked repositories and find both tools and pedagogical advice to help them to use learning resources.
The vision for the LRE has emerged from a number of recent EUN projects related to ‘brokerage system’ architectures, content exchange and semantic interoperability. These include:
- CELEBRATE (developing a Learning Object brokerage system and over 1400 learning objects for schools)
- eCOLOURS (learning object co-development and localisation)
- LIFE (Learning Interoperability Framework for Europe)
- CALIBRATE (implementing a Learning Resource Exchange particularly involving new member states).
This page provides links to major deliverables, presentations, and technical documents related to the LRE concept.
