New eTwinning Handbook 2007
Following the success of last year’s first edition, a new eTwinning book was recently published. The new ‘Learning with eTwinning: A Handbook for Teachers’ is now available in print and online.

The aim of this book is to give teachers comprehensive information on what it means to be involved in an eTwinning project and resource to get started in an eTwinning project as well as to find out about some of Europe’s top projects from the 2005-2006 school year.

The Handbook offers something for everyone. For newcomers to eTwinning, the Handbook provides a good introduction to the Action and how schools, teachers and students can benefit from being involved. Following this, in depth guidance on how to get started in a project is provided by experienced eTwinning teachers who have been involved in various projects and have a good sense of the entire workflow. If looking for ideas and inspiration, the Handbook also offers a wide range of project kits prepared by eTwinning pedagogical advisors which can be followed and adapted as partnerships wish.

Finally, the biggest section of the Handbook is dedicated to successful eTwinning projects. From a selection of some of the top projects of 2005-2006, project descriptions and teacher interviews paint a true picture of what teachers and students experience throughout their project work, from looking for a partner school, to running the project, tacking obstacles and finalising outcomes.

The Handbook is available in 20 languages in both print and electronic versions.

Learning with eTwinning
The first book published by the eTwinning Central Support Service came out last year. “Learning with eTwinning” features a collection of the best practice of what is possible within an eTwinniing partnership. In this sixty-four page book, teachers and practitioners can find a selection of projects that schools across Europe have created. Projects range from simple to complex and are for very young children to older students.

Some of the best eTwinning projects are described in the book with some having been awarded prizes at national level as well as the eTwinning Prizes at European level. All of them provide interesting reading about the teaching and learning possibilities with eTwinning. We hope that you find it to be a useful tool while developing your own eTwinning project.
